The Brickworks’ opening edges closer

The BrickworksThe opening of a highly anticipated $39 million development in Auckland’s central-west will soon become the new hotspot for people looking for good food and good entertainment.

The Brickworks, aptly named to reflect its stunning brick façade and the region’s heritage (famed for its Crown Lynn Pottery), is a new build on the site of LynnMall – regenerating the old girl and giving her new life.

Hosting a stellar line-up of restaurants and cafes, The Brickworks will welcome Shaky Isles, Wagamama, Cleaver & Co, Goode Brothers, Bodrum Kitchen, Meso and Hansan on November 5. In mid-November, Auckland’s cinema market will get a serious boost when Reading Cinemas opens at The Brickworks, ending a 14-year cinema absence in the area.

An official opening celebration will take place at midday on Thursday November 5, where renowned chef, Ray McVinnie will ring the lunch bell to declare the new dining lane open.

LynnMall was New Zealand’s first American-style shopping centre when it opened in 1963, and is steeped in history. The Brickworks signals a new era for not only the region, but the retail landscape in Auckland as shopping centres seek to differentiate themselves and add to their appeal as destinations offering a place to run errands and have fun with friends and family.
