Best of retail celebrated at Top Shop awards

Top Shop Lower South IslandThe best shops from Otago and Southland were named at the Retail NZ Lower South Island Top Shop Awards on Friday night, with Gore’s Carvin Streetwear named overall regional Top Shop.

“The Retail NZ Top Shop Awards celebrate all those who have achieved retail excellence over the past year, and aim to lift the bar of retailing in New Zealand. The best stores are selected based on three rigorous rounds of judging – two instore assessments and a panel selection across a broad range of store types, including national chains and independent boutiques,” Retail NZ CEO, Mark Johnston, said at the awards evening.

“All the finalists and winners should be very proud of what they’ve achieved, but I offer a special congratulations to the team at Carvin Streetwear who took top honours in the Single-Store OmniChannel, Small/Single-Store and Retail Professional categories, and was also awarded the title of Overall Regional Top Shop for the Lower South Island.

“Carvin Streetwear won the People’s Choice and Retail Professional categories at last year’s Top Shop awards and it’s fantastic to see it build on this success and win top prize for the region this year. The judges who visited the store were impressed by its presentation and the professional, engaging customer service.

“There was also a People’s Choice award for the best Top Shop in the region, which this year went to Dunedin’s Z Kaikorai Valley.

“The team from Carvin Streetwear and Retail Professional of the Year, Jess Pulham, will compete against other regional winners for the National Supreme Awards in Christchurch on September 3.”
