Cornwall Park Cafe with a twist

cornwallpark3The new Cornwall Park Cafe which has just opened in Cornwall Park is meeting a growing service demand from the park’s four million visitors with a new twist.

“A ‘farm to table’ philosophy will in future see the cafe gather its produce fresh from the park’s own gardens,” says cafe operator, Andrew Bell.

“People come here to run, walk or just enjoy the park. The new cafe will offer just another way of helping them enjoy its abundance.

“We’ve received overwhelming support from the Cornwall Park Trust Board and park users alike in getting to this point.”

The Cornwall Park Cafe will meet growing demand for a more modern, casual dining experience to complement the  Cornwall Park Bistro, which is currently undergoing refurbishment.

Michael Ayrton, park director, is delighted that the cafe is finally opening, especially after the building was extensively damaged by a fire in October last year and had to be rebuilt.

The cafe will provide an all-day menu, counter food and will cater to the walkers and runners of the park as well by providing homegrown, healthy options.

“From the park surveys completed, the visitors to the park have been asking for something like this, and everyone has really pulled together to make this project something special,” says Ayrton.

“The cafe will offer a special atmosphere in an outstanding location that can on occasion be used for events like small-scale weddings or birthday parties.”

The cafe is situated between the Flagpole car park and the band Rotunda on the eastern side of the park, which is one of the more popular areas in the park.
