The Albany store is the third for New Zealand, and follows openings at Queen St and St Lukes. It is the largest of Skechers 33 stores across Australia and New Zealand.
Matt Hapgood, GM Skechers retail, said the Albany store is in a great location.
“The store is also our largest footprint in New Zealand with the ability to hold up to 8000 pairs of shoes,” said Hapgood.
It stocks 500 footwear styles for men, women, and children, including, casual-comfort, fashion, and specialised, high intensity training footwear.
Hapgood said more Skechers stores are planned for NZ.
“The New Zealand retail landscape is a great market for Skechers to delve into and continue opening new stores in exciting locations.
“Our Skechers Queen St and St Lukes stores launched Skechers Retail into the New Zealand market and have both been more successful than we ever could have imagined. Albany is the third Skechers store to be opened in the New Zealand market in the past year and a half,” he said.
“It’s an exciting time for the brand – Skechers continues to refine its technologies, reinvigorating and improving its styles season on season. As a result, we are seeing a prolonged affinity for the brand in New Zealand.”
